4 out of 5 Stars
Freed from the invariable confines of low ceilings and a dressing room full of mops, the professional drag collective Drags Aloud have established a cult following in Melbourne with their well produced shows on the Sound of Music and more recently, Grease.
They give ONJ and Travolta their due, in glitzy cossies as glamorous as they are numerous.
Company leader Jessica James leads as Sandy, while Adelaide expat Kris Del Vayse (Danny) enjoyed ‘a warm hand on her entrance’, as they say.
Bon-bons include ‘You’re the one that I want’ in Greek and an all-singing, all-dancing Rydell High megamix that numbered 20 songs or more.
Quite how they managed not to sneak in Kylie is a mystery, but let that pass!
In short: Ooh ooh ooh, honey!
